Groupe Projet participates in the renovation of the Claude-Robillard sports complex
The Claude-Robillard sports complex was built for the 1976 Montreal Summer Olympics. In early 2024, the city launched calls for tenders to carry out major renovations of this important building, which is located in the district of Ahuntsic-Cartierville.
From the beginning, Groupe Projet was involved in the process, supporting the submission of Groupe Plombaction. This firm was finally commissioned to carry out the work, which will take several months. A multi-million dollar contract: “We are very pleased with the trust that Groupe Plombaction has placed in our ProJet Demolition division. This is our first mandate with them and we hope it will open the door to more collaborations of this kind!” Mentions Mathieu Lacourse, project leader.
The construction started a few weeks ago. This project involves the complete renovation of the mechanical room, the conversion of the men’s, women’s and family changing rooms into a universal dressing room, the adaptation to standards of universal accessibility and fire safety, Installation and commissioning of the mechanical and electrical systems, a new ventilation distribution in the pool enclosure, and replacement of the floating deck and hydraulic systems for the swimming pool.
For the Groupe Projet, the mandate is to completely demolish these facilities. Some 20 workers are currently working on this project. In addition to demolition, our team of experts will also carry out asbestos removal and mechanical dismantling.
This project has specific requirements for debris management. We must comply with the forward-thinking requirements of LEED V4. It is a large-scale project, but it fully corresponds to the reputation and credibility acquired in recent years in the company. In business for 25 years, Groupe Projet has established itself as a leader in the demolition sector.
It should be noted that other phases of the renovation of the Claude-Robillard complex will be announced later, in keeping with the mission to restore the glory of this jewel of the Quebec sports scene.
