Dismantling of La Ronde’s Spirale
A page of history is turning at La Ronde—and Groupe Projet is proudly signing one of its defining chapters. The Châteauguay-based company has been commissioned to carry out the complete dismantling of La Spirale, the amusement park’s iconic observation tower.
A Highly Complex Worksite
Launched in November, the dismantling operation will continue through the holiday season. Groupe Projet must proceed with extreme precision to bring down this massive 125-metre orange mast.
Located in the heart of Île Sainte-Hélène, the structure stands in an area with restricted access, adding significant complexity to the project’s logistics. Transporting heavy equipment, managing residual materials, ensuring operational safety, and protecting the surrounding environment all require meticulous planning and flawless coordination: “Dismantling a 125-metre structure in the middle of an island is not your typical job site,” explains Stéphane Turchetta, President of Groupe Projet: “Everything has to be planned in advance: equipment delivery, crane operations, and worker safety. It’s a true engineering and logistical challenge—one that matches our 25 years of expertise.”

Turning the Page on a Montréal Landmark
Beyond the technical feat, this project carries deep symbolic significance. By taking part in dismantling such an emblematic structure, Groupe Projet contributes to reshaping Montréal’s landscape while honoring the memory of a monument that inspired generations.
For Groupe Projet, being selected for this transition is a tremendous point of pride—a testament to the company’s expertise, precision, and respect for heritage.
A heartfelt thank-you to La Ronde, and especially to Francis Girouard, for their trust in Groupe Projet!
