Senior Estimator – Demolition & Excavation
We are looking for a senior estimator to support our team in preparing bids and analyzing projects.
Qualifications
Required studies (minimum one of the following options):
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction engineering or building engineering
DEC in Civil Engineering Technology or Architectural Technology
AEC/DEP in construction estimating, or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in estimating in demolition, excavation or civil works.
Excellent reading and interpretation of plans, sections, profiles and technical documents.
Advanced knowledge of demolition methods and excavation processes.
Proficiency in computer tools: Excel, estimation software (E-plan, General Estimator)
Demonstrated abilities in analysis, planning, communication and negotiation.
Leadership, autonomy, rigor and a sense of responsibility.
Responsibilities
Analyze plans, specifications, geotechnical reports and tender documents.
Carry out quantity surveys and a detailed analysis of materials (soil, backfill, concrete, structures, etc.).
Develop demolition and phasing strategies.
Prepare the associated costs: labor, equipment, materials, transportation, disposal of materials.
Prepare submissions, margins, risk analyses and alternative scenarios.
Collaborating with clients, engineers, architects, suppliers and subcontractors.
Supervise and mentor junior estimators.
Participate in contract negotiations and post-submission follow-up.
